I Am Logan Square
Industry Night

A few years ago, as an intern, I conceptualized, produced, marketed, and ran an event series called Industry Night, a professional arts networking series. The event ran (and sold out) monthly, and lead up to the popular and highly-attended Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival.

I Am Logan Square is a 501 (c)3, non-profit organization that promotes and supports the arts and cultural development in Chicago's vibrant Logan Square neighborhood.

Busy Beaver Button Co.
Button-o-Matic Release Party

For two consecutive years, I have been the event planner behind the Busy Beaver Button-o-Matic Release Party. Once a year, Beaver Beaver Button Company releases a series of art buttons which are placed in community button-o-matic machines around Chicago and other locations across the US. To celebrate, Busy Beaver hosts a release party. My responsibilities for this event include securing a venue, planning and executing a marketing strategy, rental management, selecting and working with food and beverage sponsors, leading Busy Beaver employees on the day of, and set up and tear down. Most importantly, my goal is to make Busy Beaver look great.

"Busy Beavers" Art Show

One of my proudest accomplishments recently was the "Busy Beavers" art show, which featured my coworkers at Busy Beaver Button Company. For this event, I volunteered to curate and install artwork, market the show and event series, and manage all aspects of the events. The art show ran for a month and a half, with numerous events occurring during that time. This art show and event series was a massively successful creative endeavor for everyone at Busy Beaver Button Company, and I'm grateful that they allowed me to take this idea from concept to completion.

Busy Beaver Band Night was one of several events that ran concurrently with the "Busy Beavers" art show.

Blue Buddha Boutique
Grand Opening

I was the party planner for the grand opening of Blue Buddha Boutique, a chainmaille and bead shop in the Edgewater neighborhood. Although the day was full of undesirable weather, the party still was able to attract more than 180 guests. For this event, I was charged with rental management, coordination of food and beverages, and making sure all participants arrived on time. In addition, I was responsible for the basic design and management of the event, from creating a floor plan to working with the media.

Health Source of Wicker Park
Ladies' Night

I’ve stepped in to help the fine folks of Health Source of Wicker Park at their past two Ladies' Night events. On my list of tasks was assisting vendors with load-in, keeping the snacks stocked and the wine flowing, making sure all guests signed in, and helping to clean up after the event ended.

Logansquarist
Logan Square Neighborhood Meetup

Hyper-local website Logansquarist runs a monthly Neighborhood Meetup where residents can mix-and-mingle at a local businesses and get to know their neighbors. On their behalf, I put together events at Telegraph (April 2014) and Wintrust Bank (May 2014).
